With limited space, how did Castlet find a suitable solution?
A fantastic project with an excellent team. We successfully delivered a solution that worked to hit the brief, meaning ATEX certification and no need to repurge.

Solution
Castlet studied the end client overall specifications and decided to containerise as a permanent switchroom solution, to house all the E&C panels and equipment we were also providing. To achieve the Zone 2 ATEX classification, certifying the complete container reduced the requirement to individually design and certify the electrical equipment contained theirin.
The container was designed as a purge / pressurised vessel, with high speed blowers to main positive pressure when the personnel doors were opened, (avoiding the need for repurge). All external equipment such as dual redundant 30kW Air conditioning units, the purge unit and explosion proof lights were ATEX rated to achieve the required ‘project’ certification high power blower. The container included ESP HV Control panels, and Motor Control Centres. The TR units were situated on the ESP roof.
