This brand-new blog series, ‘My Castlet Stories’, will dive into the experiences of our team members here at Castlet, as they share their insights and expertise on the industry, the net zero energy transition and career motivations.

We sat down with Amir Rahmani, Specialist Sales Manager, to discuss his eight-year journey at Castlet, reducing air pollution through engineering solutions, and cutting-edge technology.

What is your role at Castlet, and what does it involve?

As Specialist Sales Manager, I lead Castlet’s sales efforts across multiple industries – from power generation to glass and energy storage – specialising in industrial air pollution control solutions.

Having joined Castlet as a Sales & Site Service Engineer in 2017, when I relocated to the UK, I gained hands-on experience in commissioning, troubleshooting and customer support.

I then transitioned into a Sales Account Manager role, focusing on business development and strengthening relationships with clients across the globe. My experience both as an engineer and in the commercial world means that I am well positioned to deliver meaningful solutions to our clients.

What inspired you to become an engineer, and how did you discover Castlet?

My journey into engineering began with a bachelor’s degree in electrical and power engineering, followed by a master’s in electrical engineering.

Building on this strong technical foundation, I started my career 19 years ago as an Electrical Installation & Commissioning Supervisor.

Fifteen years ago, I had my first conversation with Ian Melton [Director] during a sales visit to Iran while I was working as Electrical Supervisor at Daneshvaran Innovation Engineering Co. (Dieco). Little did I know that this interaction would pave the way for my future at Castlet!

What is your area of expertise within the industry?

At Castlet, my expertise revolves around Electrostatic Precipitators (ESPs) and advanced air pollution technologies. My role involves developing and delivering tailored solutions for industries reliant on Air pollution control systems, leveraging Castlet’s 51 years of market leadership. Currently, my focus is on three-phase technology, a cutting-edge solution designed to enhance electrostatic precipitator performance.

Three-phase power supply is designed to upgrade ESPs to meet the increased particulate removal efficiency required by regulations and improve reliability and efficiency. This technology plays a key part in our ability to provide stable and controlled environments for particle extraction.

As an electrical specialist in sales, I bring a unique technical-commercial perspective that enables me to advise customers on system improvements, optimise ESP performance, and demonstrate how Castlet’s technology can drive measurable efficiency gains.

Do you have a most rewarding moment in your career to date?

Castlet continues to expand its global footprint, with orders received from over 40 countries last year alone. As part of my role, I frequently travel to Asia, Australia, and Africa, working closely with agents and clients to optimise air quality solutions.

My first international trip with Castlet took me to Vietnam, just one month after joining. Since then, I have travelled extensively, including visits to Colombia, Taiwan, and numerous other countries. One of my most rewarding projects involved helping a coal power station in central Turkey reduce its chimney dust levels by 26%, significantly improving efficiency and environmental compliance.

    What sets Castlet apart?

What truly sets Castlet apart is its collaborative culture. The company fosters an environment where teamwork, innovation, and continuous learning thrive. Under the leadership of Tim Eagles the Managing Director, open collaboration is encouraged across all teams.

The management team actively supports professional growth, providing access to technical, management, and marketing training programmes. Additionally, Castlet values employee-wellbeing, recently trailing a four-day workweek to promote a better work-life balance.

We also recently became an employee-owned company, a move that gives our team a direct stake in our future business success and involves them in key decisions.

At Castlet, I feel empowered to make a real impact—helping industries reduce emissions, improve efficiency, and navigate the challenges of a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape.

What are your predictions for the future of engineering? Do you expect any challenges and how will you overcome them?

The air pollution control industry has undergone significant transformation over the last decade due to stricter government regulations worldwide. Developed nations have enforced stronger environmental standards, driving innovation in pollution control technologies. However, regulatory requirements vary by country, making it essential to customise solutions accordingly.

Castlet remains at the forefront with its advanced microprocessor controllers and three-phase technology, ensuring compliance with evolving emission regulations. Over the last five years, the company has successfully transitioned to the three phase controller, expanded into new industries and markets, and adapted its solutions to meet the demands of an increasingly regulated and technology-driven sector.
